Polo, Picnic and Pleasure

On Saturday we join a group of long time friends to attend a Polo Match, a fundraiser, supporting  the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The picnic basket is being aired.  Seasonal Grilled Vegetales on Ciabotta bread and Atlantic  smoked salmon with fresh cream cheese are on the menu.  Fresh local strawberries and scones with a dab of Devon Cream.

Always a question of what to wear to polo

What are you doing this weekend?

  1. Hello Helen:
We have never seen a Polo match, but we do love picnics. There is nothing nicer than siting in beautiful surroundings and eating delicious food in the open air.

Your picnic food sounds really wonderful and absolutely matched in quality to the 'sport of kings'. And, all in a very good cause. We do hope that you have a lovely time!

On Saturday mornings we are usually to be found in the Old Music Academy listening to a concert given by selected students from the Liszt Academy. A perfect start to the weekend we always think.

  2. Watching a Polo match with a picnic would be one of my favorite ways to spend a day out. And especially when it is to support such a good cause too. The food you have planned sounds just perfect and I hope the weather is lovely too.
Today, I shall be openeing our village Church and arranging the flowers for the service tomorrow. We have rain forcast, so I may not be able to garden. If it is very wet, I shall ride Spotty in the indoor arena, then help with the lessons.
I hope you and your friends have a wonderful day.
    Kind regards, Abby

  13. Well. Helen... the picnic basket is certainly better looking than Prince Charles, isn't it? Charming photos and delicious looking food. I can't remember seeing Champagne, but I'm sure there must have been some! I always say that I don't like fizzy drinks, except one: Champagne!

Looks like a fantastic day out! Wow!

I smiled at your remark about the picnic basket winning the beauty contest. Ha Ha.
